Garden/Fathers Day/Daddy's Birthday

The status of our garden... there are a lot of rabbits in our neighborhood and for some reason they really like to eat our jalepeno peppers and yellow banana peppers - the plants at the top right hand corner of the picture are of marigolds, we heard they are supposed to keep the rabbits away....

We do have a good sized tomato on one of our plants, but it has not started to turn red yet so we don't know if it will be viable yet or not...
Our little jalepeno plant eaten by the rabbits....

Once again Alexis requests I take a picture of her with her sister on her lap this time while they were enjoying a snack...
Father's Day morning Daddy always golfs with my brothers and brother in laws... while he was away the girls made a little project for Daddy..........
Kayla is actually pretty good with the scissors... I have never had to show her how to use them she just kind of figures it out....

Our neighbor gave us a great big sheet of paper for the girls to make Daddy's card on... they did a great job cutting pictures out, coloring them and glueing them on, they liked to paint the picture toooooo, but Mommy had to paint the words... it was the least I could do!
We also made Daddy a cheesy Fathers Day Crown! The girls had fun making it with Mommy though!

Daddy's Birthday shortly followed Fathers Day - we made him a steak and crab legs dinner and all enjoyed eating it together on the back deck... I had to get a picture of Alexis telling Daddy Happy Birthday and that she Loves him sooooooo much!

While Mommy and Daddy were still enjoying our dinner, the girls decided to play on their swing set... and try to push one of their toys down after they had pushed it all the way to the top via slide all by themselves... Neither of them got hurt, I guess that is what matters~

Girls playing nicely

Alexis insisted I take a picture of them eating so nicely together (yes on the stairs) their lunch while Mommy was cleaning and getting ready for Daddy's Birthday dinner...

Then they decided to build a fort with their blankets in the living room... they had a lot of fun and it kept them occupied for a little while so Mommy could get dinner ready for Daddy!

Mom's 75th Birthday Party

My sister Louise organized the majority of my Mom's Birthday Party plans, the rest of us pitched in where we could. She did a great job and the party was a lot of fun. There were so many people there that we hadn't seen in such a long time, it was great to catch up with old friends, distant relatives, neighbors that moved almost 20 years ago and teachers we haven't seen in almost 10 years! My Mom had a great time and she deserved to have such a great party! We truly are a blessed family....

Alexis 2nd Recital

Alexis was very excited to get ready for her second recital.... here she is with our neighbor and best friend getting ready for the show....

How cute they are... it just melts my heart to see her so happy doing something she truly enjoys.

On stage to take a bow... she actually did take 3 bows, it was really cute, Daddy caught it on the video camera, I didn't catch it though. She really enjoyed herself, but had a couple of melt downs during the evening, I think she was over excited.

She was very happy that Nana and Pa were able to make it to her recital.
Of course Pa has his video camera with him... he is always there recording the events of ALL of his grandchildren, it is truly a gift to all of us.
Alexis with her pretty flowers from Daddy
Our happy little family. Kayla did a great job sitting patiently through the couple hour ordeal, Mommy was behind stage with Alexis the whole show... I only got to see the part where she was on stage and the very end.

Lighting was not very good, but it still puts a smile on my face, as I hope it does yours! She is on the end (the left side of the screen)

Graduation for Niece and Nephew

My niece and nephew graduated from the same high school a few weeks ago. My niece led her class as the Co-Valedictorian. My nephew will be off to LA this fall for a great college that concentrates on the performing arts, he will be a star someday! Congrats to both of them!
