Pirates of Penzance Play

I took both of the girls to see one of my nieces and one of my nephews in their High School's production of Pirates of Penzance, it was OUTSTANDING! My niece was one of the daughters and was so animated and beautiful on stage, it's hard to believe she is so grown up now!

My nephew was the Pirate King, he did an AWESOME job. His voice has gotten so strong and confident I can hardly believe it is him I hear when he is up on the stage. The girls were afraid of his pirate costume and makeup so they didn't want to take a picture with him, but my other niece and nephew that were there were happy to take a picture. I think they are all destined for stardom!

Happy Helpers

The girls have become very good at helping do some of the household chores! They love wiping the windows and their table with chairs...

Dinner Out

We love being able to take the girls out for dinner every once in a while... we all have a lot of fun and I don't have to worry about prep and clean up! (Especially after a day full of spring cleaning!) Ruby Tuesday has an excellent salad bar and the girls absolutely loved it!

Alexis enjoying some of Daddy's ribs... they are very messy, but since I rarely make them at home, I figure it is good for her to try something different, even if it is messy!
mmm, mmm, good - says kayla about all of the veggies and fruit...
Having fun with Daddy....

My beautiful little Kayla... such a precious little face for such a mischievious little girl... she was trying to go through my purse in this picture....

Placing Out Play

Last weekend Alexis and I went to see my nephew (in the suit) in the play "Placing Out". It was a great play about the orphan trains after the Civil War. He played one of the orphans and did a GREAT job!

Alexis and her cousins on the "train" set after the play... Alexis really enjoyed seeing him on stage, she kept asking me "did he get smaller Mommy?" "why does he look small up there"... I guess we'll have to work on the spacial relations thing!

Sleep over and Bike Ride

Alexis had her first sleep over with her cousin... They had a lot of fun playing dress up, making pizza's, making ice cream sundae's, eating popcorn and watching a movie...

Kayla had a good time too at the sleepover, but she didn't get to sleep in Alexis's room with them.
Kayla is growing up way too fast... she is always trying to ride Alexis's bike... my little girl full of adventure! We were going to get her a tricycle for her birthday, but I think we may get her a bike...

Alexis enjoying a beautiful spring day while Kayla rides her bike...

Rainy Day Painting

I enjoyed a rainy afternoon inside with the girls painting... they started out using brushes, but then they wanted to use their hands... they had fun, that's all that matters!

A Day at the Beach

We had a great day on Saturday - the first beautiful spring day of the year! Of course we went downtown to the beach, had a picnic and took a walk to the zoo. That is what Alexis requested we do. Since she and Kayla have been so good while we have been trying to get some more spring cleaning done, we figured they deserved a day out!
I forgot my camera in the car when we dropped the beach stuff off before our walk so I didn't get any pictures of the zoo! The girls had a great time though and they were very good!

Chelsey's Baptism

Pictures before Church for my niece's Baptism/First Communion . We were very honored that she asked us to be her God Parents.

The girls got one more chance to wear their Christmas Dresses...

Good Friday

Getting the girls ready to head out in the snow storm to the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday...

One last bite of peach before heading out... Alexis wanted the last bite, but it was Kayla's turn!
Our annual tradition of lunch at Red Lobster after the Stations.
Alexis and Kayla colored pretty nicely while we waited for lunch....
One of our nieces... it's hard to believe she's almost ready to graduate High School, I remember when she was Kayla's age!
My nephew looking at the lobster's
Another nephew
And another niece - their pictures are in black and white because I was updating my photo wall (which is all BW pictures) of all of my nieces and nephews...
The kids were entertained by the lady taking out the live lobsters and letting them look at it.
Alexis thought it was pretty cool and both the girls weren't afraid to touch it! Of course we washed their hands thoroughly before eating after touching the lobster!
Then back to my parents house to color more Easter Eggs
Kayla safely watches from a distance....
her cousin antagonizing her.... she loves him though!
