Part of the Weekend... 04/22/07

Daddy put up a swingset for the girls in the backyard... he has been looking for a good deal on one for quite a while and found this one online through Craigslist.com. It is also an early birthday present for the girls from Nana and Pa.

Kayla going down a slide for the first time... she loved it, but she didn't like the grass on her feet at the bottom!

Walking around Grandma and Papa's kitchen after Church on Sunday. We stopped over to say hello. I had to get a picture of the girls in their matching dresses! They received them as a gift from a family friend when Kayla was born, now they can wear them just in time for the beautiful weather!
Kayla always smiling for the camera.
Alexis getting very tired... almost nap time! Now it's time to do some Spring Cleaning and grill some dinner!

Alexis in the Princess Dress

Alexis favorite thing to do is dress up like a princess! She loves this princess dress...
Eating her strawberries with Mommy while Daddy was giving Kayla a bath....

Flowers 04/11/07

Alexis received a starter flower garden in her Easter Basket... she's been watching Mommy's herbs in their starter pots this week and wanted to plant her own...

She was very excited that Mommy's herbs have started to grow... well the basil and parsley have started, but the cilantro and lavendar are still in hiding!
Alexis getting her hands dirty planting her own flowers.... (she picked out her outfit herself, very interesting!)
Kayla helping Mommy supervise the planting and cleaning up.... She is holding her mouth funny because her top middle teeth are now in and the other two up top are just breaking thru... she has been a trooper teething this time around!
Mommy's Herbs and Alexis Flowers waiting for some sunshine on the new ledge Daddy built! Wishful thinking on such a snowy April day!

Kayla 11 Months Old!

These are two of the only pictures I got Easter evening of Kayla.... and then I forgot to bring my camera to my parents house for Dinner!

The girls playing in the basement... Kayla is riding Daddy's horse from when he was little, and Alexis is riding a horse she got from Nana and Pa last Christmas! They were having so much fun together.

Kayla 11 Months Old - she is really starting to use her voice a lot more! She waves and says "bye bye"... I almost caught it on video... it's not too clear here, but I still think it's cute!

Easter Day So Far...

Last night we had Alexis put hers and Kayla's Easter baskets out for the Easter Bunny. We left him some carrots incase he got hungry!
Of course this morning Alexis was very excited to go downstairs and see if the Easter Bunny was there! We waited for Daddy to get home from work this morning before going to check out the baskets.... Mommy was in the midst of getting herself and the girls ready for Church. (excuse the pj's, wet hair and no makeup!)The first thing Alexis noticed was the carrots missing! She said, Mommy the Bunny ate the carrots... where is he?
Checking out the Easter loot... Then it was time for a quick Easter Egg hunt in the basement (the basement is finally almost finished!)

After Church we came home so Kayla could take a quick nap before going to brunch at my brother's house. Alexis had time to play with her Easter basket and watch her new movie "Alladin".
She has two tattoos on her hands (picture above) for keeping her bed dry last night!
The kids had a great time out in the yard hunting for all of the Easter eggs... even though it was so chilly out!

Alexis with another cousin from Kansas City at brunch. Alexis has been attached to her all weekend!

Good Friday

Daddy holding the girls while we waited at Red Lobster for lunch with the family after going to the traditional Stations of the Cross Service.
Kayla wanted to jump in the lobster tank, and it really sounded like she was trying to say Lobster!
The youngest kids waiting patiently for their food...
Kayla, sitting at the table like a big girl!
My older nieces and nephews... it seems like it was just yesterday when they were all as little as my two girls!
One of my God Children. He lives in Kansas now so we don't get to see him too much, but it is great to see him while the family is in town!

Easter Bunny 04/05/07

We took the girls to see the "Easter Bunny" on Thursday, they were both very good and smiled very nicely....

Until I realized they were hanging onto eachother for dear life! That's what sisters are for though right?
Kayla hanging out at the mall chewing on her phone... while Alexis was playing at the play area...

Later on after dinner, we got to color Easter Eggs! Alexis waited very patiently for Mommy to get everything set up...

She loved to see the water turn different colors.

While the tablets were dissolving in the other cups, Mommy and Alexis tried a new way of coloring eggs that turned out to be much quicker and less messy!

Kayla safely in Daddy's arms (where she couldn't knock over the cups of colored water!)
Alexis did a great job coloring the eggs and was so excited everytime the egg would come out a different color!
All of our finished colored Easter Eggs ready for the Easter Bunny!

Alexis picked her favorite one (with polka dots). She kept saying "I want to do it again Mommy, please?" I told her we would have to wait until next year!
