Pumpkin Fest 2006 10/29/06

After Church this morning, I took the girls out to a Pumpkin Festival! Alexis was so excited to see all of the different pumpkins. It actually ended up being pretty nice outside, a little chilly, but not too bad.

Alexis actually smiled while looking at the camera! She might be getting better at this!

After the first picture, she turned to her sister and said "are you ok Kayla?" "Say Cheese for Mommy" It was too cute, she is such a great big sister!
Some of the very creative pumpkins on display....

Alexis loved these pumpkins... Sponge Bob is a pretty good interpretation by pumpkin!
Elmo, another of Alexis's favorites!
Daddy would have loved this one! (it's a Chicago Bear's Helmet made out of pumpkin)
Alexis loved the Mickey Mouse and of course the "Red M & M"!
This was her absolute favorite though.... She kept saying "Mama, more Humpty Dumpity please?" "Take Humpty Dumpity home?" I told her maybe we would try to make our own Humpty Dumpty next year!

Silly Song Video 10/27/06

Alexis was dancing and singing some song on the porch while we were waiting for her friend to go to the Halloween Party! She looked so funny, I could hardly understand what she was saying, but I was cracking up. Then she started singing her favorite song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"... Enjoy!

Friday 10/27/06

Tonight we went to the local YMCA Halloween Party... Alexis was hungry when she woke up from her nap and wanted a snack before we went to the party... She was making all kinds of silly faces while eating her Scooby Doo Yogurt!

We got her into her Minnie Mouse Costume, she looked too cute! She kept asking "Mommy, where's my tail?" then she'd touch it and say "I found it!"

Kayla - peaceful sleep!

Alexis picked out and put on her sun glasses all by herself when we went outside to wait for her friend that we were going to the Halloween party with... I didn't have the heart to tell her she really didn't need them on such a gloomy day!
They had all kinds of games at the party, with each game you won some candy! Alexis was very excited about that! Here's she's spinning the Wheel of Doom! Kind of like our favorite game show that we watch every evening "Wheel of Fortune"!Daddy is not going to like it when he sees this! Alexis on her first date with her friend that we went to the party with! She made sure they each had a water bottle and some bread! There was a "not so scary" haunted house set up for the little kids, perfect for Alexis and her friend. It had an igloo for the kids to crawl through, a pirate ship for them to walk the plank and jump off of, a scene from England (brought back memories for Mommy!) and this beautiful scene of Paris!
Me and my girls! Our neighbor we went to the party with was nice enough to take a picture of me and my girls (what a chore to get Alexis to stop and smile for the camera!).

Girls on Sweetest Day 10/21/06

The girls are starting to like to play together! Kayla laughs at her sister every time she smiles at her!

Kayla loves to grab faces! She'll grab your face and hold it right up to hers! I think she loves the closeness.

Alexis and Kayla gave Mommy a balloon and roses for Sweetest Day, awe, wasn't that sweet?

Our girls 10/18/06

Although Kayla is no where near learning to walk (she doesn't even have any interest in rolling over or sitting up yet!), Alexis got a kick out of having her sister stand next to her!

Uh oh... good thing Daddy is quick! Kayla kept lunging for the camera! Alexis thought it was funny!

Pumpkin Carving 10/17/06

Alexis got to help carve a pumpkin for the first time... she wanted to paint one too, since that is her current favorite activity!
She was amazed when Daddy cut the top off and saw what was inside...
She did not want to touch it at all....
Kayla sat patiently in her car seat watching from below!

Alexis was happy she finally got to start painting her pumpkin....

Mommy gets to help get the yucky insides out! Alexis has been doing really well with signing the letters of the alphabet... Here, she's giving us the sign she uses for Mommy and Daddy to say I Love you!

Our finished pumpkins! It has been too wet outside to put them out yet, but hopefully it will dry some before Halloween!

Kayla Marie is 5 Months Old!
She has finally started to enjoy tummy time a little more and loves playing with her toys! Doesn't roll over yet, but she's getting closer everyday! She is such a big girl! She is already wearing 6-9month clothes (even some outfits Alexis wasn't able to wear until she was almost 9 months!)

Birthday Party Sunday Evening 10/8/06

Sunday evening we had another Birthday party to attend for two of our nephews out on the farm...

The kids had a great time on the four wheelers and go cart (especially Daddy!)

Alexis plays "Queen of the Hill" with some of her cousins...
Kayla and Nana...
All the kids went for a tractor ride out to the corn field where there were pumpkins with each of their names on them hiding!
Searching the field for the pumpkins...
Kayla hangs out with the pumpkins while the rest of the kids continue to play! The two birthday boys blowing out their candles...

Apple Orchard - Sunday 10/8/06

On Sunday morning we went ot Edwards Apple Orchard to pick some fresh apples. It was such a beautiful day, much warmer than we expected!

Our little bushel! Kayla was much more interested in the bucket than looking at the camera! Alexis was more interested in eating the apples fresh from the tree, which they allow.

Mommy and Kayla picking apples... it was kind of challenging with her in the carrier, but easier than it would be just carrying her!
Daddy helps Alexis climb the ladder to reach the high apples. She liked the view up there!

Alexis wanted Mommy's apple, she didn't want it to go in the basket!

My girls and our basket of fresh picked apples!
Alexis loved riding the pony....
and picking out her own pumpkin like a big girl!
